about
It's taken 6 years for me to release this song. Heres why:
On attending my great uncles funeral in Rostrevor, NI about 6 years ago. A man (I no longer remember the name of) read some words that my great uncle had written. They were about the Rostrevor forest and it's creation. Taking in some local folklore and creationist Christianity.
I know very little about my great uncle apart from he was a forester in Rostrevor and a slight recluse. Something happened to him in his latter teen years which turned from a head boy star student to a solitary life.
He was a religious man, I am not.
In this song I read some of the text out as an introduction and then elaborate my feelings on the events and my great uncles life. The drums were recorded by Scott Carter of Breakers and the Sax by a guy called Johnny that I haven't seen in years.
This song is 6 years old and I felt it didn't really fit in the canon of my music but I am very happy with it. Perhaps I'll release it properly at some point.
